Curriculum & Instruction

This 30 credit Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction program is designed for the practicing education professional, those interested in an advanced education degree or for those individuals with education degrees interested in furthering their knowledge base. The program has an exciting and innovative approach that is geared to accommodate the stresses and strains encountered by today's professional educator. Classes are offered as a combination of on-line and traditional class meetings. Students will meet on five dates throughout each semester at the Dixon University Center. Summer schedules will also be 15 contact hours but will be flexible on times and dates. The remaining course requirements will be fulfilled with online activities.

Library Science

The Masters of Science in Library Science (MSLS) program at Clarion University of Pennsylvania was initiated in 1967. It was the first graduate library science program offered within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. The program has been accredited by the American Library Association since 1976 and is one of only three such programs in Pennsylvania.

The MSLS program provides professional study encompassing the principles and techniques common to all type of libraries and information centers with the opportunity for advanced work in areas of special interest. The curriculum reflects today's applications of information technology in libraries and information centers. The 12-course program equips graduates to work as professional librarians in a variety of settings, including school, public, academic, and specialized (law school, corporate, etc.) libraries.
